Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Marty Natalegawa on behalf of the Indonesian government appreciates the latest development on Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak step-down, on Friday (Feb 11) night.
"The Indonesian government congratulate to the entire nation of Egypt who has been able to overcome today`s challenges," Marty said in a press release received here, Saturday.
Marty also said that the Indonesian government believes, as voted by the people of Egypt, this will initiate the transition process goes by a peaceful and inclusive democracy that includes all elements of the Egyptians.
"The Indonesian government congratulate to the entire nation of Egypt who has been able to overcome today`s challenges," Marty said in a press release received here, Saturday.
Marty also said that the Indonesian government believes, as voted by the people of Egypt, this will initiate the transition process goes by a peaceful and inclusive democracy that includes all elements of the Egyptians.
The Indonesian government also believes, this transition process can run well and will deliver Egypt as a democratic country, more advanced, and more powerful, he said.
Also, the Indonesian government believe that Egypt will still play an important role in the region, including promoting peace process in the Middle East, and the bilateral relationship can continue to grow and will be increasingly enhanced.
"As a country that has undergone democratic transition in 1998, Indonesia is ready to share some of its experience on reformation process, democratic transition and transformation of the political system," he said.
Indonesia will always be on the side of Egypt in it`s people`s efforts towards democratic transition and in joint efforts to create an imperishable peace in the Middle East. "
Egypt has restored from a political crisis which brought thousands of protesters flocking Tahrir square for demonstration for 18 days since Tuesday (Jan 25).
President Hosni Mubarak decided to resign from his leadership, Friday (11/2), via national television broadcast in Egypt which was conveyed by the Vice President Oman Sulaeman.
The power of the one of most populous country in Africa and the Middle East is now in the Egyptian Supreme Council of Armed Forces.
